It's not necessary to pay a lot of money for accessories for fast charging iPhone 8, if you already have a power adapter for the iPad, the developer Dan Levenherz was convinced. He compared the average time spent by his smartphone at the outlet using 12-, 29- and 61-watt chargers. The result was overwhelming.
For the purity of the experiment, Levenherz used three proprietary 12, 29 and 61 W power adapters available in the Apple Online Store. The task of each accessory was to recharge iPhone 8 Plus to 50%, which they – quite unexpectedly – coped in about the same time interval. This is how the results of all three adapters look:
- 12W: 37 minutes;
- 29 W: 33 minutes;
- 61 W: 29 minutes.
This insignificant time difference is probably related to the operation of built-in controllers that limit the speed of current flow. Most likely, this way in Cupertino wanted to reduce the chance of premature wear and tear of the battery, constantly fed by high-power chargers. Explain the results of the experiment otherwise neither in us nor in Levenhertz did not work out.
