Apple ordered 70 million OLED displays for the new iPhone

If Apple is going to introduce a new generation of iPhones in September, as it has done in the past few years, the production of a new smartphone should start already in the near future. According to the Nikkei edition, the company is actively preparing for this and recently ordered 70 million OLED panels from Samsung …

According to rumors, in the iPhone 8 we will see an OLED display with minimal side frames, and it is for this Apple that the supplier of this component is needed. It so happened that Samsung – the only company that can meet the demand of its competitor, so Apple has to resort to the help of the South Korean giant.

In total, according to experts, Samsung plans to ship Apple 95 million OLED-panels in 2017. Analysts expect that the diagonal of the screen of the new iPhone will be 5.2 inches, the Home button will be built directly into the display. In addition, the smartphone will learn to recognize the owner on the face.

Previously, many Western publications have expressed doubts that someone in the world will be able to meet the needs of Apple in OLED-screens. Samsung, apparently, had enough production capacity.
